What is working in the cloud?

Working in the cloud means your software, files and systems run in secured data centers instead of local servers. You log in via internet and access everything — anywhere. Whether at the office, home or traveling: your workplace, email and documents are always available. No VPN hassle, no USB sticks. Open your laptop, log in and work. For employees, daily work barely changes. But behind the scenes everything is professionally managed: updates, backups, security and monitoring.

Benefits for SMEs

Cloud working offers concrete, measurable advantages for SMEs: • No more expensive servers to replace every few years — fixed monthly fee • Easy scaling: new employee gets a workplace within an hour • Backups, updates and security included as standard • One point of contact for all IT questions • Data safe in Dutch data centers, not on a laptop that could be stolen Most clients save 20-40% on IT costs after switching to cloud.

Which cloud option fits you?

How you work in the cloud depends on who your employees are, what software they use and how much you want to manage yourself. We offer three core products that can be used standalone or combined: Online Workplace (full Windows desktop in the cloud), Microsoft 365 (Office apps on your own device) and Modern Workplace (Intune-managed hardware). The full comparison — what's included, current pricing, which profile fits which option — lives on the [cloud solutions](/en/cloud-oplossingen) overview page. This page stays on the substantive question: how cloud working works, what it solves, and what to watch out for.
