What is the difference between Intune and Active Directory?
Active Directory (AD) is on-premise: you need a physical domain controller on site and devices must be connected to the network to receive policies. Intune is cloud-native: devices receive policies over the internet, wherever your employees work. For modern hybrid work Intune is the standard.
Do I need a Microsoft 365 subscription?
Yes. Intune is part of Microsoft Business Premium (ā¬19.70/user/mo) and Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 (ā¬8.80/user/mo). We arrange the licences as part of our service.
Does Intune also work on macOS, iOS and Android?
Yes. Intune supports not just Windows but also Apple devices (macOS, iOS, iPadOS) and Android (both corporate and BYOD via Android Enterprise). One portal for every device.
Can I keep my local file server?
Yes. Intune and a local server can perfectly co-exist via Microsoft Entra Hybrid Join. Files stay local, management goes through Intune. Or we recommend a migration to SharePoint / OneDrive if that fits your situation better.
What if an employee loses their laptop?
We perform a remote wipe via Intune within minutes. BitLocker ensures the disk is unreadable for whoever finds the device. Your data is safe and you have no GDPR notification obligation as long as encryption was correctly configured.
How quickly can you set up Intune for my business?
For a small team (5-20 employees) we're live within 2 weeks. Larger migrations with existing AD environments are phased in 4 to 8 weeks. We always do a pilot with 2-3 test devices first before company-wide rollout.
