Azure Virtual Desktop is Microsoft's modern workplace technology. Normally it runs in Azure, with a consumption bill and your data at Microsoft. We run the same management layer on our own servers in Eindhoven and Den Bosch: fixed price per user, data in the Netherlands, fully managed. That is our Online Workspace. If you do have reasons to run in Azure itself — multiple countries, strongly fluctuating numbers, existing Azure commitments — we build and manage that too.

Azure Virtual Desktop

What is Azure Virtual Desktop?

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is Microsoft's workplace technology: your staff sign in with their Microsoft 365 account and get a full Windows desktop, wherever they are. The management layer — who may sign in, which security rules apply, how Teams and video are handled — comes from Microsoft and works with Microsoft Entra, Defender and Intune. Normally the servers behind AVD run in Azure. That is no longer required: the same management layer also works on servers outside Azure. That is what we do — AVD on our own hardware in Eindhoven and Den Bosch. How it works Your employee opens the Windows App on a laptop, tablet or phone and signs in with their Microsoft 365 account, with MFA through Microsoft Entra. Microsoft checks who you are and what you are allowed to do, then sets up a secure connection through the Microsoft management layer to the session host that runs the desktop. A session host is a Windows server with your programs on it. The screen travels over the line, the files stay on the server. If someone loses a laptop, no company data goes with it. What you need for it Three things. A Microsoft 365 licence per user that grants AVD rights, and Business Premium covers that. A device with the Windows App or a browser. And an internet connection. Nothing else: no server in the cupboard, no Azure subscription of your own and no VPN. With us the rest sits in the price per user, from the session hosts and the storage to the backup and the management. What Azure Virtual Desktop suits AVD works well for companies with industry software that runs on Windows, with people working from several locations and several devices, and with requirements about where the data sits. Think of accountants, healthcare organisations, law firms, construction and manufacturing. It is less of a fit for heavy graphics work that needs a fixed workstation PC, or for companies that already do everything in the browser. What you buy is on online workspace: AVD is the technology, the Online Werkplek is the product, with a fixed price per user and no Azure bill.

AVD in Azure or AVD with us?

The same technology, two places to run it. AVD in Azure Servers in a Microsoft data centre (Amsterdam or Dublin). You pay Azure consumption per hour for compute, storage and network, plus licences. Scale up and down within minutes, worldwide. Files sit with Microsoft. Fits organisations in multiple countries, strongly fluctuating numbers or existing Azure commitments. AVD at Virtual Computing — the Online Workspace Servers in our own data centre in Eindhoven and Den Bosch. Fixed price: €38 per user per month plus your Microsoft 365 Business Premium licence. Files and applications stay in the Netherlands. Sign-in, MFA, Defender and Teams optimisation are identical to Azure — it is the same management layer. Why AVD without the Azure bill?

For most Dutch SMEs three things matter more than global scale: • A fixed invoice — no hourly consumption that moves with how busy you are, but one amount per employee you know in advance. • Files in the Netherlands — your desktop, documents and industry software run on our servers. Microsoft orchestrates the connection and the security, but does not see the content. • A team that knows your environment — the same people who manage the servers answer the phone. And you give up nothing: sign-in with your Microsoft 365 account, Teams that works like on a regular PC, Defender on every workplace and central updates — it is all included. Every company gets its own environment: own servers, own domain, nothing shared.

When Azure itself is the better choice

AVD in Azure itself is the better choice if you: • Have staff in multiple countries and want the workplace close to them • Have strongly fluctuating user numbers (seasonal work, project teams) and want to pay per hour • Already have an Azure commitment or Enterprise Agreement you want to use • Need specific Azure services alongside the workplace In that case we still design, build and manage the environment: setup, updates, Defender, auto-scaling and 24/7 monitoring. Because it is the same management layer, you can move to our data centre later — or the other way round.

Azure Virtual Desktop costs

With us: €38 per user per month for the workplace, plus Microsoft 365 Business Premium (€19.56). All-in €57.56, cancel monthly, no consumption costs. Already have Business Premium? Then only the €38. In Azure: you pay per hour for VMs, storage and network, plus licences. Flexible, but less predictable. We keep it manageable with auto-scaling (servers off outside office hours), reserved instances and consumption monitoring. Want both calculated for your situation? Azure Virtual Desktop management

With us, management is not a separate product and not a timesheet. It is part of the price per user. This is what we do: • Setup: building the environment, creating the images and installing your industry software. • Updates: Windows, Office and your industry software, centrally and outside working hours. • Security: Microsoft Defender on every workplace, access rules and MFA through Microsoft Entra from your own Microsoft 365 environment. • Access: users added, users removed, permissions per role. • Backup: daily, in our second Dutch data centre. • Monitoring: 24/7 on capacity, performance and incidents. • Support: a helpdesk that knows your environment. Is your AVD running in Azure itself and are you only looking for someone to take over the management? We do that too. We take the environment as it is, starting with an inventory, and you keep your own Azure subscription. That comes at a fixed price per month, with a quote within one working day. AVD hosting in the Netherlands

If you are looking for AVD hosting in the Netherlands, this is what you get with us. The session hosts sit in our own data centres in Eindhoven and Den Bosch, not in a Microsoft region. Your desktop, your files, your applications and your backups therefore stay in the Netherlands. Sign-in, licences and security policy run through your own Microsoft 365 environment, within Microsoft's European data boundary. Every company gets its own environment with its own servers and its own domain. Nothing shared.
