Robin started his IT career in the late '90s as a technical consultant and saw first-hand how SMBs were served by large IT vendors at disproportionate cost and complexity. In 2006 he founded Virtual Computing with one principle: IT should help businesses move forward, not slow them down.
Today he leads commercial and strategic direction. He talks to clients daily — from dental practices to manufacturers — and stays hands-on involved in how Virtual Computing keeps improving its services. No ivory tower, just direct lines.
He's also closely involved in product development of VC's in-house platforms like isaBEL (cloud telephony) and the online workplace. He believes that a Dutch IT partner only stays distinctive by building software in-house where off-the-shelf products fall short.
