What can Alex do?

Alex is not a generic chatbot — Alex is integrated with our entire backend. That means Alex knows exactly what's going on at your end and can resolve most things immediately: Answer IT questions without raising a ticket — "How do I set up an out-of-office?", "My printer isn't working, what now?". Alex gives step-by-step guidance based on your specific workspace. Reset your password without calling — Alex handles it directly, without needing to reach the helpdesk. Secure, via your Microsoft account. Check the status of your own environment — "When did my last backup run?", "How much storage do I have left?". Direct answers from our monitoring systems. Resolve common IT issues — Outlook not working, Teams showing an error, OneDrive not syncing. Alex runs the standard checks with you. Raise a ticket only when really needed — If Alex can't fix it, he automatically creates a ticket with the right context and routes it to the correct colleague. No more re-explaining.

How does Alex work in your workspace?

Alex lives in two places: 1. In your Online Workspace — An Alex icon in your taskbar. Click it, type your question, get an answer. Works on desktop, laptop and mobile. 2. In the chat widget on virtualcomputing.nl — Also available when you're not signed in to your workspace. For general questions, pricing info or "can you help me with X?". Alex speaks Dutch and English. Conversations are stored confidentially so you can look back at what Alex previously suggested. No tracking for advertising purposes — just your IT history.

Why Alex and not ChatGPT or Copilot?

ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot are powerful tools, but they know nothing about your specific IT environment. They can't tell you when your backup ran or why your VPN isn't working. Alex can. Alex and Copilot are complementary: Microsoft Copilot helps you in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams with your day-to-day work (writing documents, summarising emails, analysing data). Alex helps you with your IT environment itself (resolving issues, checking status, getting support). What does Alex cost?

Alex is included in every Online Workspace package from Virtual Computing. No extra licences or add-on fees — you get Alex automatically as soon as your workspace goes live.

Is Alex the same as Microsoft Copilot?

No. Microsoft Copilot helps you in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams with your day-to-day work. Alex helps you with your IT environment — resolving issues, checking status, getting support. They are complementary: many customers use both.

How secure is Alex with our data?

Alex runs inside our ISO 27001 + NEN 7510 certified environment. Conversations are stored confidentially within your workspace context and not used for training purposes. We do not send customer conversations to OpenAI or Anthropic for model training.

Does Alex speak English?

Yes. Alex speaks both Dutch and English and automatically detects which language you're using.

What if Alex can't resolve my issue?

Then Alex automatically creates a ticket with the conversation context and routes it to the right colleague. You don't have to explain anything twice.

Can Alex reset passwords for other users too?

For regular users, Alex can reset your own password. For admin rights or managing other users it goes through an approved flow — ISO 27001 security requirements still apply.

Does Alex work on mobile?

Yes. Alex runs on desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile — anywhere you have access to your Online Workspace or virtualcomputing.nl.
